The 3-point perspective (3PP) is so called because it has only 3 vanishing pointse.
Two of which are on the horizon and the third is either above or below the horizon. This means the viewer is either looking up or down on the object. Consequently, the line of vision is pitched and the function of the elevation plane comes it to play.
One on being the left side of the line of vision, and the other on the right. Depending on the shape of the object and how it is rotated the vanishing points will be sited differently. The steeper the rotation the nearer the vanishing point.
