Conclusion
I hope by now you managed to do your own ‘Painting of no concern’. No! Well try it some time you will find it different from the previous.
As you sit there with a mouse in one hand and browsing through pages on the Internet, I’m guessing you are probably not in the ideal state of mind to get the full benefits of these creative exercises. Ideally, it should be done at a time when you are relaxed and preferable in a ponderous mood.
Be open to one’s unconscious abilities and intuitive feelings is the first step to creating inspiring art. These creative exercises is a trigger to that process.
How, you may ask?
Firstly, it puts aside fears and apprehensions regarding technical ability, composition and use of materials.
It did not require preplanning. It was consequential or a creative reaction to what was before you.
Most importantly, it suppressed left-brain tendencies and boosted creativity. Where logic was put aside for intuition, sequencing was replaced by random and time was focused on the moment.

If you teach art or conduct workshops the creative exercises such as these can tell you much of your student’s artistic confidence, and I stress confidence not ability. Some will be structured and repetitive whereas other will be more abstract.
I believe there is ‘art’ within all of us, it is purely a matter of finding it and what type of art is it. So often we hear of the son following in his father’s footsteps. Dad was an engineer and so is the son. Was it a passion for engineering or was it familiarity. What do they say about familiarity and content?
Yet some years later came that economic bump, a little bad luck and he became a TV presenter. Was it a matter of confidence or was it ability? Who knows? But unless you try it, you will never know.
Alternatively, Exercise Your Crativity is a practical exercise of how to boost your creative powers.
