Welcome to Willie Strydom African Landscape Gallery

Willie had this to say about why he enjoys landscape paintings:

I'm so lucky to live in a country like South Africa with such diverse landscape, from desert, grass savannas to mountain to bushveld, all great topics for an artist. The cape winelands, especially, are a great topic for me and had great successes with my interpretations of these scenes.

Autumn in the Cape is just awesome with all the rich oranges, yellows, reds, ochre's and purples. Painting these scenes in acrylic is so rewarding and satisfying as you will see in the images below...

Many people have described my work as happy art. I believe it portrays the way I feel to be able to do what I love. Semi-desert, Namaqualand, changing overnight into Gods garden is an overwhelming sight never to be forgotten.

The Karoo again with its vast open spaces and dry landscape lend it self to a different mood. Painting there is an experience in it self as one try to capture the bright sky's and dry landscape with its many textures and colours.

My landscape gallery portrays how fortunate I am to live in a country like South Africa. From the cape winelands to the floral displays of Namaqualand and the vastness of the Karoo the topics are endless.

So let's have a look at some of these colourful scenes by Willie Strydom.
